EDUCATION SYSTEM

Results of Tenth as well as Higher Secondary exams have been published.Think this is the right time to express my views about our Education system.
The questions popping out immediately in my mind are
* Does the education today capable of facing the challenges of tommorrow?
* Does it mine out the the real intelligence in children?
* Can just a tenth or higher secondary education help people get jobs?
* Is the marks given, a measurement of "real intelligence" of students?
* Is the paper valuated aptly?
* Does it mean two students "with same grand total" have the same IQ
* Centums in all subjects including social science, just 2 marks less in languages--- is it good?
* Getting high scores has become a status symbol --- Students lose their childhood to get that high scores.
* Publicity to state and district ranks-- is it necessary?
*Is practical knowledge given importance?
I tried to bring out all the the ?'s.. If i have missed any, kindly bring it to my notice, so i will be able to add it...

Loosers are worried about Losses and happy about Gains.
Winners are happy about Losses and worried about Gains.
For Winners try to make Success out of Losses and try not to make Gains into Losses.
Loosers will be highly satisfied with the little Gains and forget about future.
Thats why Loosers inspite of their achievements remain Loosers.
Winners inspite of their falls always remain in the Peak.
Humble is the jewel of Winners.
Boasting is the jewel of Loosers.
Winners when they have reached the peak will not be happy as they would be afraid of falling.
They would realize that the safe place would have been the plains.
At the peak, only the Winner can stand. Can the family stand with him?
Real Winner would be the one who is able create plains on the top of the peak.
What do you want to become, Winner or Real Winner?

Kanyakumari

My blog would not complement without a description of my native place. Kanyakumari one of the serene and beautiful district of TamilNadu, is situated at the southern tip of the Indian Peninsula. The district is a land of tourist attractions with many historic and religious sites that are centuries-old and also endowed with great natural beauty, both on the coasts and the mountainous interior. Kanyakumari town is named after the Goddess Kanyakumari Amman. Legend has it that the Goddess Parvati in one of her incarnations as Devi Kanniya, did penance on one of the rocks of this 'land's end' to obtain the hand of Lord Shiva.

The main languages spoken by people of the district are Tamil and Malayalam. English is widely understood in the urban areas. Kanyakumari District, today, tops the state in literacy levels and education. Colleges of higher education are found throughout the district - especially Arts and Sciences colleges and Engineering colleges. The state runs the Kanyakumari Medical College at Asaripallam, near Nagercoil.

Hinduism, Christianity and Islam are the three main religions represented in the district. The distribution of population based on religion is as follows: Hindus - 53.26%, Christians - 43.46%, Muslims - 3.19% and Others - 0.09%.

Kanyakumari District accounts for more than 95% of the production of natural rubber in the state of Tamil Nadu. Rubber is cultivated mainly in the hilly areas (on the western ghats) in the interior, while paddy fields and other crops are mainly found on the plains, near the coast.
